Italy\’s Enel, Russia\’s RAO in a deal for stake in Bulgarian power station

Enel and Russian power grid monopoly RAO EES have agreed for the Italian utility to acquire a 49% stake in Bulgaria\’s power station in Varna, reports The Deal website.
News agency Reuters also recently reported that RAO planned to sell 49% of the Varna power plant, Bulgaria\’s second-largest, to Enel once the Russian company\’s completes the 579 mln euro ($702 mln) purchase acquisition.

Varna leads Bulgarian property market price-wise

The value of homes in the coastal Varna area outpaced the residential market in the capital Sofia in Q2, said the Address Real Estate agency, citing data of Bulgaria\’s National Statistical Institute.

LUKoil Bulgaria to invest 40 mln levs in petrol stations

Russian oil producer LUKoil will invest 52 mln levs in its refinery in the Bulgarian coastal city of Bourgas by the end of this year, completing ahead of schedule its five-year investment program for the plant, LUKoil Bulgaria general director Valentin Zlatev told the 7th Southeast Europe Economic Forum on Tuesday, November 1.

Bulgarian mortgage rates down 1 pct point w/w to 7.6%

Mortgage rates slipped 1 percentage point over the past week after 3 banks lowered the cost of borrowing for home buyers, the central bank reported on Tuesday, November 1.
The central bank statistics cover mortgages in the local currency only. For mortgages in other currencies the rates dropped by 0.5 percentage point.
The central bank does not offer data about HVB Bank Biochim\’s mortgages in Swiss francs.

Tishman fund buys new building near Sofia airport for 1.5 mln euro

Investment fund Tishman Lindner Bulgaria Real Estate will buy from German construction company Lindner a new built-to-suit property near the Sofia International Airport that will house mail, express and logistics services provider TNT, said Julian Edwards, CEO of London-based Tishman International Management Ltd.
Tishman Lindner Bulgaria Real Estate is a joint venture between Lindner and the Tishman International real estate company.

Marinov brothers to remain in custody, charged with conspiracy to commit murder

After a 3-hour closed-door session, the Sofia city court ordered on Tuesday that brothers Krasimir and Nikolai Marinov remain in police custody on charges that included conspiracy to commit murder.
The Marinov brothers, believed to be affiliated with defunct strong-arm grouping SIK, were arrested during a police operation triggered by last week\’s assassination of banker Emil Kyulev.
