Sofia, Bulgaria property deal at record high price
A Sofia downtown property has been sold at the record-high price of EUR 3500 per square meter, according to recent reports.
The deal sets a precedent as the usual highest housing prices so far has ranged on average between EUR 1500-2000, say experts, as cited by local 24 Hours Daily.
The 400-square-meter property is part of a former museum, where the buyer intends to erect a five-star hotel or a business center.
Official data shows that Bulgarians have to pay at least a salary and a half to buy one square meter of real estate property at an average price leveled BGN 730,5.
